Oracle Security Master Class for DBAs and Developers

Everyone should know that Oracle's flagship database contains more built-in security functionality than do all of the other major commercial database products combined. They should also know that most of it is disabled by default. Knowledge of security tools that require additional licensing such as Database Vault, Database Firewall, Transparent Data Encryption, and Audit Vault are important but equally important is the many capabilities included in the default license that can harden a database against attack and against being used as a source of an attack.

Oracle ACE Director Daniel Morgan will present with demos live in SQL*Plus how to greatly improve your database security using built-in features that require no additional licensing and show how you can stop your Oracle database from being used as a source of an internal or external attack. The class will feature the new security features and capabilities in Database versions 12.1 and 12.2 and provide the information you need to pass audits.

Instructor: Dan Morgan

Daniel Morgan is an Oracle ACE Director internationally recognized as a Subject Matter Expert on core Oracle Database and GoldenGate. Morgan’s began his Oracle career at Pacific Northwest Bell (now CenturyLink), Boeing and AT&T Mobility. In addition to his consulting work, Morgan wrote the Oracle curriculum for the University of Washington and was the program’s principle instructor for ten years.
